COVID-19 Update -  as of 28th March 2020

Dear Customers,
During this difficult time for us all, we plan to keep you updated on our business operations.

As of this morning, our factory is fully operational and open for business.

As communicated previously, the health and wellbeing of all our customers and staff are of paramount importance and in-line with earlier government advice and the instructions of the prime minister, we have already asked all but the most essential staff to work from home - including our team of sewers.

The staff who remain in our factory and offices are following government guidelines on social distancing, and all working surfaces within the buildings and offices are sanitized regularly throughout the day. Our delivery drivers are also sanitising themselves before and after deliveries, and they have been instructed to minimise interactions with customers.

Most of our supply chains remain intact, and at present, we foresee no supply interruptions. However, we continue to hold additional contingency stock to provide a further buffer against any future delays to stock replenishment of our raw materials.  

We sincerely hope that you and your families keep well in the coming weeks, and should you need any advice or ideas on how to make your home the place of comfort that it should always be - but especially right now, we are here to help you.

Lead Time - Within 4-6 Weeks.

Order from The Dormy House and, from now on, well get furniture and upholstered designs to you in less time within just four to six weeks. 

As you know, all orders are custom-made in the workshop. You send us the upholstery fabric you want to use (or you can choose from our extensive collection), pick the paint colour, and select handles and knobs to suit. Want to change the size of a standard product? We
ll alter it for you if we can.

OUR DELIVERY SERVICE - to UK Mainland Addresses

(excluding Scottish Highlands and Isle of Wight where postage and delivery are charged at cost, see note below and contact us for a delivery quotation)

Delivery is often seen as the unwanted charge at the end of your order, however, there is always a cost involved in delivering furniture that can sometimes be cumbersome and heavy.

We don’t want you to pay over the odds for this important service, so we’ve structured our delivery so that you will only ever pay for the largest items’ delivery cost regardless of how many items you order at any one time.

So here’s how it works:

All our products have been grouped into one of four delivery price bands:

(A) Accessories £10

(L) Light furniture £15

(M) Medium weight £25

(H1) Heavy furniture £45 (two-man delivery)

(H2) Heavy furniture £70 (two-man delivery)

(H3) Light modular £100 (two-man delivery or

(H4) Large modular £140 (two-man delivery)

These bands apply to each individual item and items are delivered to your door. If more than one piece of furniture is ordered, remember that you will only ever pay for the largest items’ delivery cost regardless of how many items you order. So, if you buy two accessory products and one medium weight product, your delivery charge will only be £25, the cost of the largest item. 

It’s as easy as one, two, delivery!

Your heavy furniture will be delivered and assembled with all packaging taken away. Our specialist team will contact you when the furniture is ready and arrange a mutually convenient date and time for delivery to take place.

A FEW THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

ACCESSORIES, LIGHT, MEDIUM  WEIGHT FURNITURE (one man delivery to your door) 

On the day of despatch from us, the courier will send a courtesy email or text message informing you that they are in receipt of your parcel and to expect it the following day. 
You will also be given a consignment number so that you can track your delivery. On the day of delivery, they will send another email or text message indicating that your parcel(s) are on the way and provide you with a time slot. If you are not going to be able to receive your delivery you will have ample opportunity to make alternative arrangements with the courier directly.

HEAVY FURNITURE (two-man delivery) 

After the courier has collected your furniture from us they will contact you by phone to make arrangements for delivery on a mutually convenient day. Your delivery will be taken to the room of your choice (subject to access).

Please let us know of any potential access issues prior to delivery, as we do not want to be faced with taking a wardrobe up a spiral staircase unless we are prepared!

Your heavy furniture will be delivered and assembled with all packaging taken away.
