Try a Roman blind in a recess that doesn't allow you to drawer curtains away from the window to maximise the light, to dress up a kitchen or bathroom, or because you prefer a neat window dressing in any room. Alternatively, team a blind with curtains, choosing co-ordinating fabrics, to make a feature of your window.
Our Roman blinds are finished to your exact measurements and we'll make them in a fabric of your choice.
We comply with all regulations for safety on pull cords. All our blinds are fitted with a certified corded head-rail system with a metal chain which hangs 150cm from the floor. When placing your order we will need to know the fixing height of the head-rail from the floor as the chain does need to be fitted to a minimum of 150cm from the floor.
We use either white or ivory lining as standard or you can choose optional blackout lining.
Blinds can also be lined and interlined or blackout lined & interlined. The interlining adds body and fullness.
Prices do not include a trim along the bottom edge. If you would like to add a trim detail or contrast fabric borders, please call us to discuss your custom made blind.
Use our measurements below as a guide and use the box below to input your own measurements. When choosing your size go to the next size up for pricing, even if your measurements are only 1cm above.
Blinds can be fitted either outside or inside the window recess with the chain on the left or the right.
How to measure for your Roman blind
Measuring inside a recess: Make sure there are no obstructions, i.e., window leavers which would affect the smooth operation of the blind. Measure the width and subtract 1cm for clearance. Then measure the drop.
Measuring outside a recess: Measure the width approximately 10cm from the window frame and then measure the length from approximately 10cm above the top of the frame finishing at the point where you want blind to drop to - usually 5cm below the sill.

A Roman blind is a beautiful window treatment for many of the rooms in your home. Roman blinds are made from the same fabrics as curtains, so they’re an elegant way to dress windows and more decorative than roller, Venetian or vertical blinds. They also bring softness to a scheme as they pull up into soft horizontal pleats. We make Roman blinds bespoke and you can choose from our huge collection of fabrics from the leading fabric houses, or even send us your own preferred fabric to use to make your Roman blind instead. We can tailor your design down to the last detail, too. Our Roman blinds can be lined, lined and interlined, which will add fullness and help the drape of your chosen fabric, or blackout lined. We recommend the latter option for bedrooms where this will help stop street lamps and early sunrises disturbing your sleep pattern. We’ll fit the pull cord on the side of the Roman blind you prefer, too. We can also add the decorative detail that makes your Roman blind design just right. Both contrasting fabric borders, and trims along the lower edge of the blind can give your design your own personal style. Just get in touch to find out more.
Roman blinds can be used in many rooms of your home. They look beautiful in bedrooms and living spaces and, in either room, can be used alone or teamed with curtains – which looks particularly stylish if your windows are large, and offers good light and privacy control for bay windows. A Roman blind can be used in the bathroom, but we’d advise you to keep them to adult bathing spaces where they’re not likely to get splashed. Roman blinds are also suitable for dining areas. If you have a radiator located below a window, a Roman blind can be a great window dressing solution as it won’t block the heat, but looks beautifully decorative. They’re also useful when furniture needs to be positioned underneath a window and floor-length curtains aren’t viable, and when a window is close to a perpendicular wall, where a curtain couldn’t be drawn back.
Roman blinds are an excellent way to show off a patterned fabric as, when the blind is down, you’ll be able to appreciate the motif, and there’s still plenty of pattern on show when the blind is pulled up due to the soft pleats at the top of the blind. If you’re teaming a Roman blind with curtains, our advice is to stick to bold pattern for either the blind or the curtains. The other in the pairing is best as a plain in a co-ordinating colourway, although you could use, for example, a subtle geometric with a bold floral as they won’t fight for attention. Our fabrics are shown in colour groups, making it easy to pick blind and curtain fabrics that will complement one another. For finishing touches like trims, pick up a colour from a blind pattern, and think about whether you’d like a contrasting fabric to create a border to individualise your Roman blind design.
Always be aware of safety considerations when you’re fitting blinds. Our Roman blinds comply with all regulations for safety on pull cords. All our Roman blinds are fitted with a certified corded head-rail system with a metal chain which hangs 150cm from the floor. When you’re placing your order we will need to know the fixing height of the head-rail from the floor so that the chain is fitted to a minimum of 150cm from the floor.
