The colour and the knobs for the doors are big factors in creating the style of your shoe storage bench. You could choose any of our beautiful paint shades for the bench. If your hallway is small, you might want to opt for colours such as white, ivory, stone or French grey. These will reflect maximum light, helping the hallway feel bigger and brighter. Charcoal is a contemporary classic, while dark neutral putty and darker sable have on-trend style. For a country look, consider bright and breezy mid blue or inky blue, or, for modern style, barely black could suit. As standard, the doors of our shoe storage bench are fitted with wooden knobs painted the same as the furniture finish which creates a neat appearance. However, you can choose different handles from our collection, including metallics, and shapes with classic or contemporary lines, so consider the other finishes in your hallway to create a pulled-together scheme.
We’ve designed our hallway shoe bench to fit a corridor style hallway as well as more rectangular entrances and it has dimensions of W:112cm D:40cm H:52cm. If yours is a long hallway and the family have numerous pairs of outdoor shoes or sports shoes to tidy away, think about adding a second bench alongside to provide a home for all the pairs you need to store. Our hallway shoe bench is made from MDF. The material is stable despite fluctuating temperature and humidity in a home environment to ensure your piece of furniture is a durable design. The doors of the hallway shoe bench are Shaker style, so the design won’t date. The shoe bench is easy to look after. If the paint gets marked by muddy shoes, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth. The seat pad, if you choose to add one, can be gently vacuumed with the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner.
Although it’s designed for the hallway, the shoe storage bench would work equally well in other rooms of your home. Consider positioning one near the back door, particularly if members of your household use this entrance more, or are in and out of the garden frequently. It’s a visual reminder to take boots and shoes off and will stop mud and dust being tracked indoors. The shoe bench with doors could also be a worthy addition to a large cloakroom, or utility room, providing stash space in the form of a handsome piece of furniture.
